Dark clouds and summer rain storm over a Peak District moorland landscape. A red grouse has just been disturbed from its resting place and pops up from the heather with a loud flap-flap-flap of its wings and an unmistakable whirring croak “goback-goback-goback”.
I was about to get out and go for a walk at Longshaw but I thought better of it. Ten minutes later there was a very wintery shower over this area of the Peak District!
